THE 31ST CHART YEAR
A Brief Explanation: Long ago I chose to incorporate what I call 'Chart Years' into The MBG Top 40. Each year, the new chart year begins on Sunday of the first week of November and runs through Saturday of the last week of October. All singles which made their debut within those dates become eligible for the Top Hits for that chart year; 152 singles qualified during the 2000 chart year.
